Chace Architecture Selected as Finalist in Mountain Architecture Prototype Competition

Chace Architecture’s proposal was recognized by the Summit Powder Mountain jury as a finalist in the competition seeking a prototype for small-scale mountainside dwellings. The Summit community is seeking to create a modern mountain development centered on their philosophy of innovation, creativity, cultural enrichment, and environmental conservation. The competition brief asked entrants to envision structures that complement the natural landscape and incorporate sustainable building design and construction practices.

It was a great exercise to put forward a few ideas I have had on material use, modular and panelized construction, and Passive House building systems. While the proposal ultimately did not win, it was nice to have the work and concept recognized. I will be continuing to flush these ideas out in larger scale proposals.
